Overview:
Organisations which are able to manage H, S & W successfully display a number of common characteristics. They have H & S risks under control and they achieve a progressive improvement in their injury and ill health record.
Whilst the other two courses in this series examine the 'off site' activities, this course will concentrate on the management of H, S & W. 'on site'.
Aims & Objectives:
Either in their current role or in the near future, delegates will be expected to take an active part in helping their organisation to keep H & S risks under control and achieve progressive improvement. This course is intended to provide the knowledge and guidance to help achieve this.
- To ensure delegates are aware of their responsibilities / duties under Health and Safety Legislation
- To ensure delegates can take the information acquired during the course and use it to manage construction activities more safely.
- To under-pin the knowledge required to demonstrate the achievement of relevant institution’s Health, Safety and Welfare Attributes
- To provide a refresher and top up for more experienced staff. To challenge their knowledge and motivate them to think more deeply or differently about safety issues.

- CDM Regulations Part 2 - Schedule 2 Minimum Welfare facilities
- CDM Regulations Part 4 - General Requirements for all Construction Sites

- Risk Assessment and the different forms
- The Suitability and Sufficiency of risk assessments
- Principles of control of risks
