Railways - Passing of Trains Over Broken Rail (Half-Day)

This course is designed to run concurrently with Bridge Strike (Nominee) which is also a half-day (3 hrs) make 1 day's (6 hrs) training in total.

Aims & Objectives:

Delegates will be able to state conditions under which the passage of trains may be authorised, as published in Networkrail's Rulebook. They will also be able to recognise the types of break referred to in the rulebook. It will enable delegates to examine a broken rail and if possible, allow trains to pass over that break at 5 m.p.h until the arrival of qualified engineering staff.

  • Specific types of break and the conditions which must be applied
  • Passage of trains
  • Written Assessments

This event has been developed in recognition of the identified need of many individuals and companies in the Rail Industry. The course is normally run in conjunction with Bridge Strike Nominee.

Intended For:

Delegates need to hold a current PTS certificate, current certificate of CoSS and Rule book.
