Electricity at Work Regulations 1989

The course is run as a proactive event with every delegate taking an active part in examining the practicality and logic of the regulations as to how they address the problems faced by those in the front line undertaking electrical work.

By the end of the course delegates will have an understanding of how the regulations address the safe system of work, safety of electrical equipment and the competence required by those undertaking electrical work on different classes of equipment.

These Regulations complement the Health and Safety at Work Act by placing responsibilities on everyone involved with electricity at work, whether as a director, manager, supervisor or employee. The extent of these responsibilities is dictated by what is under the control of the individual concern. They apply across the broad spectrum of company hierarchy.

Everyone is a duty holder with responsibilities for electrical safety. Therefore both electrical minded persons together with those responsible for the management of electrical safety are duty holders and need to know their responsibilities in law.

This half-day course is an ideal opportunity to obtain a broad understanding of these responsibilities.
