Overview:
The course is designed to train workers to ensure their individual and collective actions contribute to health and safety in the workplace
Aims & Objectives:
At the end of this workshop, delegates will be able to:
- Identify the hazards and evaluate the risks in their workplace
- Use appropriate workplace precautions for specific risks and/or know how and when to seek advice on risk appropriate precautions
- Assist managers in preparing written risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Follow their organisations health and safety policy
- Co-operate and communicate on safety matters
- Carry out work activities without risk to themselves and others
- Report accidents and assist in their investigations
- Monitor their own activities and assist managers in active monitoring
It is not intended to cover the detailed description of technical factors or the in depth requirements of regulations and codes of practice. It is, however, a comprehensive, which will require commitment on the part of the delegates to get the best out of it. It is highly interactive, with case studies, practical demonstrations and delegate exercises.
Mode of Delivery:
Assessment will be completed and moderated by IOSH.
Achievement of the objectives of the course will be assessed with a 30-minute closed book multiple-choice assessment and a practical risk assessment exercise back at your workplace.
