Overview:
The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace replaces the Foundation Certificate in Health and Safety in the Workplace. The qualification can be tailored to business and individual needs - to ensure the course is relevant to those attending.
Aims & Objectives:
To enable delegates to gain an awareness of Health and Safety issues in the workplace and to provide them with - on passing the end of course assessment - the CIEH award.
At the end of the course students will be able to:
- Understand current Health & Safety Legislation
- Recognise the need for Health, Safety & Welfare within the workplace
- Appreciated the importance of familiarisation with the workplace and workplace equipment
- Understand the need for Risk Assessment
- Understand Manual Handling
- Recognise a Hazardous substance
- Understand ergonomics and workstation design
- Describe safe systems of work in relation to transport and vehicles
- Understand issues related to noise and vibration

By the end of this course delegates who pass the end of course assessment
will receive a CIEH Level 1 Award in Health & Safety.
