Prevention of Abuse

Overview:

The Care Standards Act 2000 places a duty on care organisations to train staff in prevention of abuse of Service Users. It is important for care workers to understand the types of abuse, recognise the signs of abuse and know what to do if they witness or suspect abuse.

Aims & Objectives:

The object of this course is to introduce the legislation and policies relating to Prevention of Abuse. The course requires no prior knowledge of legislation and is suited to both new staff with little hands-on experience and to experienced staff with a wealth of practical knowledge who would benefit from underpinning knowledge. The course backs up the theory with examples from Health & Social Care settings to illustrate both good and bad practice. Of course there will be plenty of opportunities for delegates to ask questions.
