Depression and Anxiety are far more common than people think. Against the recent economic background people are under more strain than ever, so being mindful of our own situation, and that of others is imperative.

Morning
- The background - why do we need to be mindful?
- The causes of depression and anxiety
- The signs and symptoms - including the Fight/Flight response
- Risk factors
- Self assessment for anxiety
Afternoon
- The support and treatments available
- Case studies and roleplays
- Self care activities
- Summary of the day

- Initial Assessment of attitudes and beliefs of delegates
- Interactive Exercises
- Individual and Group Exercises
- Discussion by the group
- Feedback Activity - case studies and roleplays
- Powerpoint presentation
- Final assessment and summary
- An increase in knowledge, confidence and competence
- A chance to practice in a safe environment via the case studies and roleplays
- A chance to practice self-care activities in order to apply them to practice
Intended For:
Intended as an introduction for all those whose work may bring them into contact with people experiencing anxiety and depression, all levels of staff
There are now pre-course requirements. However delegates must have a willingness
to participate and engage in the exercises is desirable. Please note that
delegates will not be made to take part in activities which may "trigger"
them
